Purpose and access
FCC Comment Sync is a private utility used by Ali Lari for his own YouTube channel. It requests the youtube.force-ssl Google OAuth scope to read channel uploads and comments, and to create or edit Ali-authored campaign comments. It does not provide access to other users.
Data used
The utility reads the channel ID and name, video IDs and titles, publication and visibility details, and top-level comments on public uploads. This can include comment text and author channel IDs from other commenters. It uses those comments only to identify an existing Ali-authored campaign comment and avoid duplicate posts. It does not modify or delete another person's comment.
Storage and sharing
OAuth credentials are stored in private local files and encrypted GitHub Actions repository secrets. The campaign setting is in a private GitHub repository. GitHub Actions processes the data during scheduled runs; its logs contain video IDs and action outcomes, not the text of other people's comments. A local run may keep a private per-video record of Ali's campaign comment IDs. The utility does not sell Google user data or use it for advertising. Data is shared with Google to make YouTube API requests and with GitHub to run this private automation.
Control
Ali can change the campaign text, disable the workflow, remove the stored credentials, or revoke the app's Google access. Questions about this policy can be sent to alijasemlari@gmail.com.
